It’s highly important to found a balance between the state power in one hand and the society’s private organizations and gatherings on the other hand. so the state doesn’t follow its leaders’ personal interests and become a property of certain people Just like what happens in dictatorial regimes that eliminate the role of different parties, unions and civil society to ensure their control over the state and evade any kind of censorship or opposition to their corruption. A party is a group of people who share the same ideas and points of view about a cause and it usually represents its members in the state either through elections or by being a part of the government. In this way the party either participates in ruling the state so it represents its voters, or it becomes an opposition to the state that puts pressure on it and criticizes it. A large number of parties in a country reflects the society’s diversity and richness, but when one party rules, the state is called a one party state, and Syria has been a one party state until recently although it had some nominal parties. A union is different from a party and it’s usually associated with a profession or a craftsmanship and represents these workers and takes care of their interests, such as the farmers union. And its necessary for the union to be independent and not follow any party to play its natural role. and put pressure on the state in case of its members interests were violated. The civil society is a large group of non-governmental, non- profit organizations as well as different clubs and associations, where most of their activities are voluntary and they provide social services and aim to influence the public policy share knowledge, spread awareness and put pressure on politicians and decision makers. One of the civil society’s features is Freedom… personal freedom where one can express his/her thoughts and dreams and gather with people who share the same vision without any fear of being punished or arrested by any authority without a trial or even being put under intellectual, psychological or physical terrorism. The state is our responsibility, and it’s the duty of each one of us to protect it from corruption and not let anyone turn it into a dictatorship that belongs to a person, a family or a party, and this can only be achieved with free independent parties and unions and a strong civil society.
