ACS CAN: Ask Chris Hansen – Florence from New Jersey: How Does ACS CAN Prioritize Issues?

this question comes from florence and marlton
new jersey and florence’s question is how does ACS CAN prioritize which issues to work
on and which types of cancer to focus on and florence that’s a really good question there
are a variety of things that we considering we make that decision one is that we talked
to the medical science people in the american cancer society in terms of what kinds of cancer
uh… researches is available for possible at that time where the greatest need is we also because we have people in washington
d_c_ and people in state capitals all across the country were also paying attention to
what’s going on there and where the potential is to get something done that’s going to have
some some positive impact so we we basically consider all of these things when we make
that decision and the distinctions that we may not only distinction speak between different
kinds of cancers because a lot of times research that goes on one kind of cancer can
apply to another kind of cancer but it’s also we’re talking about childhood cancer are we
talking about pediatric cancer we pay attention to those things to but forest thank you for
your question
