THE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY HELD ITS ANNUAL TEE IT UP FOR LIFE FUNDRAISER TODAY. (PAUSE FOR NATS OF CLAPPING) THIS YEAR THEY HONORED THE STATE OF ALABAMA’S FIRST HEISMAN TROPHY WINNER, PAT SULLIVAN. SULLIVAN WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER IN 2003. 124 PLAYERS SIGNED UP TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS YEAR’S TEE UP FOR LIFE. LAST YEAR THEY RAISED 143 THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR CANCER RESEARCH, PATIENT PROGRAMS AND SERVICES. “Obviously cancer is big in all of our hearts out here since we are fighting for a cure so we’re out here just playing some golf, hoping for some good weather and hoping for a good day” AN ANONYMOUS DONOR PROMISED TO MATCH WHATEVER AMOUNT THE EVENT RAISED TODAY. A SILENT AUCTION THAT IS PART OF THE EVENT CONCLUDES TONIGHT.
