Anaconda nurse recieves high honor

of our viewers across the state and in northern Wyoming a nurse at the small VA clinic in anaconda recently received a big honor empty UNS john amy has the story Mary Anderson is just a humble nurse with the Anaconda VA clinic to her coworkers she’s more than that a rock star they said this is the nurse that everybody wants to follow after they really impressed over all just the colleagues they’re impressed by her performance overall and yeah it’s really this is a real asset to the VA Anderson was selected the Daisy award winner out of 40 nominees in the state she was nominated by a patient from Dillon who was skeptical about using the VA he was pretty frustrated with the whole situation he drove from Dillon which you know we got a couple hour drive to this particular office but I’m left just so impressed on this the nurses extraordinary care the VA system nationally has been plagued with problems in recent years from long waiting times to inadequate care the small staff at the Anaconda clinic serves about 2,000 veterans in the region and officials at this clinic believe they are making progress with better care for veterans more people give us a chance more local veterans and not using our service please come in and use our service come and give us a chance sure this little office in the smelter city is quite busy but staff here say they are honored to be able to serve the veterans above and beyond just the normal healthcare just taking care of people that’s actually sacrificing the war for our country so I love the fact that I serve them now after they served for our country in anaconda John amy MTN news the clinic operates with two doctors and about ten nurses and support staff we’ll be right back
