CHRISTMAS TREE COMING FROM NEW MEXICO BE AT RISK BECAUSE OF A RECENT COURT RULING? A JUDGE HAS ORDERED A HALT TO ALL TIMBER MANAGEMENT IN NEW MEXICO )S NATIONAL FORESTS BECAUSE OF A LAWSUIT OVER THE PROTECTION OF THE MEXICAN SPOTTED OWL. WHERE PRIVATE FIREWOOD CUTTING IS NOW ALLOWED, BUT THERE )S A QUESTION IF THE CAPITOL CHRISTMAS TREE THAT IS COMING FROM THE CARSON NATIONAL FOREST CAN BE CUT DOWN UNDER THE INJUNCTION. THAT TREE WILL BE DISPLAYED ON THE WEST LAWN OF THE U.S. CAPITOL BUILDING IN WASHINGTON. WHILE WILD EARTH GUARDIANS WHO )S BEHIND THE ORIGINAL LAWSUIT DOESN )T BELIEVE THE INJUNCTION APPLIES…NO ONE BUT THE JUDGE CAN SAY FOR SURE.
