I’m Diana Tate. And I’m a non Hodgkins lymphoma
survivor and bone marrow transplant survivor going for more than 21 years. My allogeneic
bone marrow transplant was performed here at UAB where I am the longest living survivor
of the procedure. I’m Kurt Zimmerman. I’ve lost several relatives to cancer and last
spring, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. I’m Pat Jamieson. I work in the cancer registry
and I have lost multiple maternal family members due to cancer. I owe it to my family to do
what I can to win the fight against cancer. I’m Roger Reynolds. My mother had pancreatic
cancer and lost her fight. For 15 years, I’ve worked to bring joy to others suffering in
the hospital by singing to them every holiday season. I am Kristen Noles. I battled breast
cancer at a younger age than the average woman. And with a job and kids, it added another
layer of challenges. But I got through it, and won. UAB has been in the knowledge business
since its inception. In fact, our current slogan is, “Knowledge that will change your
world”. On October the 2nd and 3rd, our entire community has the opportunity to participate
in contributing more knowledge around cancer, its causes, and how to prevent it. Please
join me and others, by becoming a research participant in CPS3. Go to the UAB Comprehensive
Cancer web site and click on CPS3 to sign up for participation in this unique opportunity.
