The nation’s Cabinet approved three laws aimed
at improving labor welfare. Tougher punishments for sexual harassment
in the workplace, while making sure the victims don’t face any disadvantage for reporting
it. Four extra days of vacation will also be given
to female employees who wish to get fertility treatment. In the past, they had to use days from their
ordinary annual leave. The revised Labor Standards Act will also
guarantee a minimum number of days off for employees who worked for less than a year
and for those returning from paternity leave.
