IN YOUR WEEKEND PLANS INCLUDED MAYBE ADOPTING A DOG FROM THE HUSSEIN SOCIETY I KNOW SATURDAYS ARE SUPER BUSY. YOU’RE GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT. WE HAVE A LOOK AT WHY AND WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW. IT’S SOMETHING THAT’S NEVER HAPPENED HERE BEFORE. DOG FLU HAS FOUND ITS WAY TO THE OREGON HUMANE SOCIETY. I’M CONFIDENT WE’RE GOING TO KEEP THIS CONFINED. EARLIER THIS WEEK, THEY TOOK IN MORE THAN A DOZEN DOGS FROM ANOTHER SHELTER OUT OF STATE. IT TURNS OUT ONE HAD THE VIRUS. THAT THEN SPREAD TO TWO OTHERS. BOTH OF WHICH CAME FROM THAT SHELTER WITH THE CONTAGIOUS DOG. NO ANIMALS THAT WERE ALREADY AT OAS GOT SICK. AND IT’S JUST LIKE IT SOUNDS. IT’S SIMILAR TO WHAT US HUMANS CAN GET WITH SYMPTOMS LIKE COUGHING AND SNEEZING. IT SIMPLY HAS TO RUN IT’S COURSE BEFORE THE ANIMAL FEELS BETTER. THAT CAUSED US TO IMMEDIATELY TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO NOT ONLY PROTECT THOSE DOGS, THE DOGS IN THE SHELTER. WITH THOSE DOGS IN QUARANTINE OHS IS FOR THE MOMENT STOPPING ALL DOG ADOPTIONS OUT OF AN ABUNDANCE OF CAUTION. THE HOPE IS THAT WON’T LAST FOR TOO LONG AND SOON THOSE PUPS CAN FIND THEIR FOREVER HOME. I KNOW THIS COMMUNITY CARES ABOUT ANIMALS AND WE’RE ALL GOING TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM TOGETHER. THAT WAS NICOLE MILLER REPORTING. IT’S WORTH NOTING THAT HUMANS ACTUALLY CAN’T CATCH THIS VIRUS SO WHAT COMES NEXT? WE’RE TOLD THAT SOME MORE TOASTING WILL BE DONE ON MONDAY AND THEN
