Dr. Brabrand’s 2017 Winter Break Message for Students

Hello students. This is Dr. Brabrand, your
superintendent here in Fairfax County Public Schools. I wanted to give a brief
message right before winter break to thank you for all of your hard work. I know you have a lot to do every day, balancing work in classrooms with your
clubs and activities. Some of you even have part-time jobs. There is a lot to do
and I appreciate everything you do to keep the main thing the main thing, which
is focusing on doing your best, making sure your hopes and dreams are realized
and continuing to put your best foot forward in every classroom. As we approach winter break here are some additional tips and suggestions from a
few of my friends. Get moving and get rest! Regular exercise can help you sleep
better and improve your mood. If you are struggling with stress or sadness, reach out to a parent or a trusted adult. It is okay to ask for help. Put down your devices. Talk face-to-face, instead of snap chat. So how’s your day been? Good, how’s yours? I want to thank you again for all your hard work. It’s been a great 2017. I hope you have a great winter break. Happy New Year and I’ll see you in 2018!
