Hawaiian Humane Society Celebrates 12 Days of Pet-Mas


KRISTINE: THE HOLIDAY SEASON ISN’T JUST FOR HUMANS…BUT IT’S ALSO FOR PETS. IN FACT, THE HAWAIIAN HUMANE SOCIETY IS ALSO CELEBRATING THE 12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS. SUZY TAM WITH THE HUMANE SOCIETY JOINS TO EXPLAIN. THE HAWAIIAN HUMANE SOCIETY IS CELEBRATING THE TWELVE DAYS OF PET-MAS. COULD YOU TELL US ABOUT IT? SUZY TAM: The Twelve Days of Pet-mas is going on until December 24 with $12 adoption fees for all animals, all ages! We have so many different types of animals available for adoption, including cats, dogs, guinea pigs and even turtles. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ADOPTION? SUZY TAM: All of the dogs and cats available for adoption at the Hawaiian Humane Society are spayed/neutered, receive vaccinations, are dewormed and receive a microchip. Even rabbits and male guinea pigs are spayed/neutered. It’s really a comprehensive list of services, and you’ll get this for a $12 adoption fee! HOW LONG CAN AN ANIMAL STAY AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION? SUZY TAM: There is no time limit for an animal available resident, a cat named Stella, has been with us since August. That’s four months.
