>>SWEET GESTURE. HONORING OUR NATION’S VETERANS ONE PENNY AT A TIME. STUDENTS FROM SAINT GABRIEL CATHOLIC SCHOOL IN HUBERTUS HELD A PENNY DRIVE TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE HONOR FLIGHT. THE PROGRAM SENDS WORLD WAR TWO AND KOREAN VETERANS TO WASHINGTON D.C. TO VISIT OUR NATION’S WAR MEMORIALS. THE STUDENTS PRESENTED THEIR ONE-THOUSAND DOLLAR DONATION TODAY. ONE 8TH GRADER WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN CHOOSING THE CHARITY THAT CELEBRATES THOSE WHO SERVED OUR COUNTRY.>>I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN INTERESTED IN PAST WARS AND THE HISTORY ABOUT IT. MY GREAT-GRANDFATHER SERVED IN WORLD WAR II. HE IS ONE OF MY ROLE MODELS, SO THAT IS HOW I CAME UP WITH THE HONOR FLAG.
