Humane Society is waiting for the arrival of pets from the Houston area

Thousands of pets have been displaced since
Hurricane Harvey. The Humane Society here in Waco has opened
over 50 kennels and is waiting on their arrival. In order to make space, the Humane Society
has partnered with other shelters up north and is sending their animals to states like New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Colorado. Rescues play a vital part of our everyday
business and in a situation like this where we needed a lot of space quickly a lot of
the rescues up north that have never pulled from us before have really stepped up and
said no we are willing to help, we got space, let us help you out. The Humane Society is receiving pets from shelters in Houston that are over capacity because of Hurricane Harvey. Unsure of how many pets will arrive in the
next week, the humane society has opened as many kennels as possible, each of them containing
a doggie bed and a water bowl. If you’re looking to get a furry friend, consider
adopting. For LTVN I am Christina Soto
