Humane Society of Pinellas County sustains $15,000 in damage during Hurricane Irma

Welcome to delicious. SO MANY PEOPLE ARE STILL RECOVERING FROM STORM DAMAGE AND THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF PINELLIS COUNTY IS NO EXCEPTION. NEWS CHANNEL 8 JANA JONES HAS A LOOK AT THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN DAMAGES. Reporter: THIS IS THE ROOM WHERE SICK CATS ARE CARED FOR AND AS YOU CAN SEE THERE IS EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE ROOF. THIS ENTIRE ROOM FLOODED AND THE SHELTER LOST $2000 WORTH OF VACCINATIONS OUT OF THAT FRIDGE. SHINGLES AREN’T THE ONLY THING MISSING FROM THE HUMANE SOCIETY OF PINELLIS. THE ANIMALS ARE MISSING. PRIOR TO THE STORM, WE HAD OVER 200 ANIMALS THAT WE EVACUATED. WE GOT THEM INTO EMERGENCY EVACUATION HOMES. Reporter: AND GOOD THING THEY DID. RAIN WAS GUSHING IN. YOU CAN SEE WHERE THESE ARE STILL BOWING DOWN. SO THERE WERE KENNELS ON BOTH SIDES. HAD WE NOT EVACUATED, ANIMALS ABSOLUTELY WOULD HAVE BEEN IN THESE CAGES. Reporter: ANIMALS SAFE, BUT THEIR HOME IS NOT. DAMAGE TO THE TUNE OF $15,000. WE GENERALLY HAVE OVER $2 MILLION A YEAR WE HAVE TO RAISE, SO WE EXPERIENCED THIS LOSS. CERTAINLY, THAT WASN’T IN THE BUDGET. Reporter: BUT SHELTER WORKERS ARE DOING EVERYTHING THEY CAN — THEY CAN TO GET THE ANIMALS BACK IN HERE. THEY HAVE WORKED LONG HOURS AND MANY OF THEM ARE WITHOUT POWER AND FOOD THEMSELVES. Reporter: BUT COMMUNITY SUPPORT IS HELPING. ALL WE CAN DO IS BE GRATEFUL FOR OUR SAFETY. LIFE HAPPENS IN FLORIDA AND WE NEED TO RALLY TOGETHER AND PICK UP THE PIECES AND MOVE ON. THAT’S WHAT WE WILL ABSOLUTELY DO. Reporter: SHELTER WORKERS SAY THEY CANNOT RECOVER WITHOUT YOUR HELP. OF PET FOOD AND MONEY. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN
