Humane Society seeking community help to secure $25k grant

welcome back to the News at 6:00 the Lewis and Clark Humane Society is in the running for a $25,000 grant but they need help from the community to secure it last month Petco foundation honored Humane Society photographer Chris Martin as an unsung hero because of that the shelter received a ten thousand dollar grant the PETCO Foundation recently released a video showcasing Martin along with the other unsung heroes now there’s an online voting contest to determine who gets the larger grant the Lewis and Clark Humane Society says that money would go a long way because this winter and spring caused unpredictable expenses at the shelter this operation is expensive and just you know this week we actually had a little dog come in that is gonna require additional medical care she came in she has a tumor on her body and she also has cushions so we’re gonna be trying to get all of that figured out and treat her for all of those things but we want to be able to be there for every single animal that comes in and give them all the care that they need the deadline to vote in the contest is May 6th you can find more information on our website ketv.com
