Maggie Meyer, BJ ’07: What the J-School Means to Me

The Missouri School of Journalism, to me,
is this very trusted resource. I say that, “I graduated from the University of Missouri
School of Journalism,” and people know what that is. It holds clout pretty much anywhere,
and there’s a reason that it holds clout everywhere. And that’s because, the students who go through
the School of Journalism have every resource at their fingertips. They have fantastic professors
here, fantastic opportunities to learn new tricks, to try different applications for
the journalism process, and they learn every facet of that journalism process. So when
they go into their first job, whether it’s in journalism or not, they have that background
of the Missouri Method in this Missouri School of Journalism, and they can take that anywhere
they want it to go.
