Men of Honor

TONIGHT — 100 BLACK MEN OF OMAHA… A LOCAL MENTORING PROGRAM… CELEBRATED THEIR “MEN OF HONOR” GALA. OUR OWN “”SERESE COLE WAS THE “MISTRESS OF CEREMONIES” TONIGHT — WHERE SHE STARTED OFF THE EVENT WITH A SPEECH REFLECTING THE GREAT WORK OF THE GROUP. THE EVENT — SERVES AS A CHANCE FOR PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY TO GATHER AND SEE HOW THE ORGANIZATION IS HELPING YOUNG MEN… FOLLOW THEIR DREAMS. “IT’S A GREAT FEELING. I MEAN IT’S SORT OF LIKE A PAT ON THE BACK WHEN SOMEBODY COMES UP AND SAYS ARE YOU. AND YOU SAY YES AND THEY SAY ‘YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT KIND OF IMPACT YOU MADE ON MY LIFE AND NOW I’M DOING XYZ AND I’M VERY FAMOUS OR I’M VERY SUCCESSFUL AND YOU’RE GOING ‘YOU’RE THANKING ME FOR THAT?” ORGANIZERS SAY — THEIR MISSIONS IS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE — AND ENHANCE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR THESE YOUNG MEN. THERE ARE ONE HUNDRED AND TEN CHAPTERS THAT ALSO PARTNER WITH SCHOOLS WORLD-WIDE.
