Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Helps Make a Difference for Sailors, Marines and their families

MAKING A DIFFERENCE FOR SAILORS, MARINES AND
THEIR FAMILIES IS THE MISSION OF THE NAVY-MARINE CORPS RELIEF SOCIETY. HERE AT YOKOSUKA, THEY MEET WITH COMMAND REPS
AS PART OF THE KICK-OFF OF THIS YEAR’S FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN. NMCRS REPS TALK TO SAILORS ABOUT HOW TO GET
THEIR COMMANDS INVOLVED AND WHAT IT MEANS TO DONATE TO THE ORGANIZATION. “DONATING TO NAVY-MARINE CORPS RELIEF SOCIETY
IS VERY IMPORTANT BECAUSE YOU’RE ASSISTING OTHER SAILORS AND MARINES AND THEIR IMMEDIATE
FAMILIES BASED ON A FINANCIAL NEED. THE ONE THING THAT I’VE SEEN HERE IN YOKOSUKA IS A
FEW MONTHS AGO, WE HAD A SERVICE MEMBER COME TO US. HE WAS THREE MONTHS BEHIND ON HIS RENT BECAUSE
HIS BAH STOPPED IN SAN DIEGO WHERE HIS FAMILY LIVED. BY YOUR DONATIONS THIS ALLOWED HIS
FAMILY TO STAY INTO HOUSING.” THE FUNDRAISER RUNS FROM MARCH 1ST THROUGH
MARCH 31ST AND COMMAND REPS HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOUR PARTICIPATION WHETHER YOU DONATE OR NOT. PETTY OFFICER BRIAN M. BROOKS, YOKOSUKA NAVAL
BASE, JAPAN.
