Supporting Cambridge & District Humane Society For The Month of April

Hi there, Nicole Pereira here from
Cambridge Centre Honda and today I’m here with my coworker and friend
Michelle and we are here visiting the Cambridge Humane Society. They are our
charity of choice for test drive campaign this April which means for
every single test drive we do at the dealership we are gonna set aside $10 for the important work that takes place here at the Humane Society.
Let’s go on inside and see what’s happening. So Michelle we are hoping that we do a lot of test drives this month at the
dealership so that we can support you. What are your greatest needs here at the
Humane Society? Greatest needs here are always a financial we always have a lot
of medical bills, a lot of veterinary care that goes into these guys and those
costs are always on the rise they’re never getting any cheaper they are just
getting more expensive and the animals require that in order to do get up for
adoption and to get a feeling better and find new homes. So tell us a little bit
about Glee what a sweetheart. So poor Mr. Glee came to us in February
he had frostbite so bad he was found in a snow bank by a passerby who thankfully
contacted Animal Control to get out there and get him picked up. He had
frostbite on all four of his paws the tips of his ears and the end of his tail
the underneath of his skin on his belly and chest area had actually started
falling off so he required some pretty extensive antibiotics, scrubs on all of
the pads of his feet and we were actually concerned that he wasn’t going
to be able to keep his feet that they may fall off due to the injury from the
the frostbite but thankfully he lives and tells his story
and he has a nice fresh skin on the pads of his feet. The girls the cuddle team
here have done an absolutely amazing job with him and he’s nice and healthy and
neutered and should hopefully be going on for adoption and shortly. That’s so
awesome. What an awesome story. So there’s a special event coming up at the Cambridge Humane Society’s. There is. Yeah so tell us a little bit about
that. So we have our 18th Elephant Waltz Gala it’s held at the African Lion
Safari and we invite members of the community and businesses to come and
join us it’s a full dinner, auctions live auction, silent auction. There’s raffles,
dance afterwards. You can visit with the animals there is it absolutely
fabulously event put on by the Safari. All in support of the Cambridge Humane
Society so all funds raised from that event go
to help little turkeys here like Glee. Isn’t that fantastic. I’ve heard so many good things about that event. Yeah tickets are $150
a piece and then the sponsorship opportunities that ticket availability
is just posted right on our website so anybody can pop on there or give us a
call at the shelter we can absolutely help deal with any questions. Awesome so last but not least what is your favorite part of working here at the Humane Society. This, I think it’s this. How could it not be? I’ve been here for 22 years and what keeps you going every single day is
these guys, these are living breathing creatures and they need us the kennel
team at the Humane Society is absolutely fabulous and they are absolutely
integral and then to grow apart to to the shelter and to caring for all of
these guys. So if you don’t see that on Glee’s face you can see why you’d love
coming to work then I don’t know what’s wrong with you. Right buddy? I agree. Well thank you so much thank you for the tour and more importantly thank you so
much for what you do for our community and for these little guys. Thank you guys so much. And we
are gonna do our best to do lots of test drives this month. So thank you very much. Thank you.
