They’re Creating A Culture Of POSITIVITY Around Sex

Sex is one of those things that if someone
wants something that you don’t want, often our immediate response is,
“Oh my gosh, you want that?” Or like, “Oh hell no, I’m not into that.”
I like furry things. ♪ [music] ♪ I connect people to the
joy of being in a body. One of the main things that I want to
share with people is shame resilience. What building shame
resilience looks like is, “Wow, I love that you are bold
enough to know that you want that. I don’t think that I would enjoy that,
but that doesn’t mean you’re crazy.” ♪ [music] ♪ Often when people are coming to me,
they’re saying, “I’m feeling alone, I’m feeling disconnected or frustrated,
I don’t quite fit into who I’m told to be or what I’m told I should desire.”
They’re feeling inhibited or awkward or insecure or even sometimes jealous. They’re like, “I want
what that person has.” ♪ [music] ♪ We’re really feeling a
lineage of mistrust, we’re in the #MeToo era,
there is this pain coming forth so that we can heal and we can move
towards that which we really desire. Whether that’s moving out of sexual
trauma into a healthy, vibrant, fucking hot connection with somebody,
relationship with somebody, or whether that’s like, “Oh my God,
I’m so overwhelmed with all these oppressions in our society.”
And my work is how do we pivot from the pain and overwhelm into,
“Wait. I remember who I am.” They’re ready to be in a space where
sexual energy is empowering and not a scary thing anymore. ♪ [music] ♪ If you get someone to be ashamed or
afraid of what they really desire, good luck if they can start a revolution. ♪ [music] ♪ People need permission to accept what
they actually want. And if they want sex, they need to know that that’s okay,
that they still belong. And if they don’t want it,
they need to know that too. ♪ [music] ♪
