And I’m Mandy Noell. Tony Hall was just 29 years old when we has found murdered last year in Sharon. [A8]20170510 SHARON MEM 27-GRPHCS Last night — 22-year-old Kaine Fowler of Farrell was arrested and charged with Hall’s murder. Police say that Fowler confessed. Eleven months later — the crime appears to be solved. As word spread today through the neighborhood where Troy Hall lived and was murdered — the decision was made to hold an impromptu memorial and the site where his body was found. Remembering Troy Hall is our top story at 11. [A11]20170510 SHARON MEM 27-PK Stan Boney-WKBN 27 first news: The memorial for Troy Hall was held in Sharon — in an alley between Spruce and South Oakland Avenues — next to the utility pole and behind a vacant house where Troy was found murdered on June 19th, 2016. Angel Hall-Troy’s mom: “MY SON FINALLY GOT THE CLOSURE THAT HE NEEDED, AND HE IS FINALLY GETTING JUSTICE.” Stan Boney-WKBN 27 first news: As more people arrived they were greeted with hugs — and the memorial grew. Justice for Troy shirts were hung, notes written on a poster board. Candles were lit around a bouquet of flowers. The final piece a cross with Troy’s name. Eventually the crowd grew to 20. “THIS JUST PROVES HOW MANY PEOPLE CARE ABOUT HIM AND LOVE HIM, AND TO ALL OF US HE’S STILL HERE, HE’S STILL WITH US. SO IT’S NOT A TROY WAS? IT’S A TROY IS.” Stan Boney-WKBN 27 first news: At one point — someone called up Wiz Khalifa’s See You Again on their cell phone. “OH I’LL TELL YOU ALL ABOUT IT WHEN I SEE YOU AGAIN.” Stan Boney-WKBN 27 first news: The word closure was used a lot — but not much was said about Kaine Fowler — the man who confessed to murdering Troy Hall. It wasn’t until I asked about the arrest — that people opened up. “THEY WERE BEST FRIENDS. YEAH THEY WERE CLOSE FRIENDS AND, FAMILY. IT’S JUST, IT’S UNBELIEVABLE. IS THIS A SHOCK FOR ALL OF YOU? YES. YEAH. IT’S A VERY BIG SHOCK, VERY BIG. YOU DIDN’T SUSPECT THIS OTHER GUY? NO. WE ALL KNEW HIM. EVERY LAST ONE OF US KNEW HIM.” Stan Boney-WKBN 27 first news: Since the murder — this group has met on the 19th of every month in this same spot to remember Troy Hall — and will continue to do so. They’ve built other memorials — some of which have been torn down. “WE’LL REBUILD AGAIN, WE’LL REBUILD AGAIN. WE OWN THIS ALLEY NOW, THAT’S FOR SURE. IT’S NOT THE ALLEY BETWEEN THE TWO STREETS, IT’S TROY’S ALLEY. [A12]20170510 SHARON MEM 27-TAG Great guy — would do anything for you — was one of my best friends. Those phrases were used frequently today to describe Troy Hall. Troy’s mother was there — you me her. The rest were friends — though it was stressed to me they were all family.
